Getting Started Right
About two years ago I (Art) began working with my current Brokerage. I had been to two other brokerages at the time and it just wasn’t the right fit for me. As I was sitting in a Orientation Meeting for my local Realtor Association, this guy, Jonathan Harmon was teaching a segment on establishing yourself in the business and learning how to navigate the waters of your first year in the business successfully.
I remember sitting in the audience that day thinking to myself, “I like the way this guy talks about how he runs his business…I want to run my business that way as well.” About a month later, I reached out to Jonathan to talk about making a switch to the Weichert Realtors Team in Murfreesboro. A transition was underway in that office when I decided to join, and both Jonathan Harmon and my current Broker Chris Garrett sat down with me and helped me figure out how to build a roadmap for my own business.
It was the first time I had really been able to get much clarity on what needed to be done to get where I wanted to be in Real Estate and it was largely because of Jonathan’s help and influence during those early formative months in my business that I was able to sell two homes within my first 4 months of working in that office.
Today, I’m excited to share this interview with you for a number of reasons. Jonathan has since transitioned to Keller Williams and has started his own team called the J Harmon Home Team. He has been in the business for the better part of 9 years now and has sold over 500 homes in that time. He knows a little bit about what he’s talking about and I want to encourage you to take good notes from our conversation.
