Ken Coleman Interview
This week’s episode was one of my favorites to date. As many of you know… I am an avid reader and love to learn as much as I can about personal development, leadership, and how to run my business in a way that is successful, efficient, and relationship oriented.
I read books a lot and also listen to podcasts so I can sharpen my own personal skill-set and grow as a business/sales person.
One of the books that I recently read is this book called “The Proximity Principle” by a guy named Ken Coleman. I actually was introduced to Ken through a podcast I listened to years ago called “The Catalyst Podcast” which was a podcast put out by the John Maxwell organization to help church leaders by offering interview, insights, stories, and leadership principles from people in the Christian business and leadership worlds.
Now, years later I was listening to The Brian Buffini podcast and saw that Ken was on his show a couple of times… the most recent one talking about his new book.
I also found out that Ken has a show now that is broadcast out of the Ramsey Solutions building (The Dave Ramsey Show) not 20 miles away from where I am currently writing this post.
I reached out to Ken’s media manager and was able to snag an interview last week and today’s podcast is the result. The really cool thing about this interview was that I got to do the interview while sitting in Dave Ramsey’s brand new studio! It was pretty surreal for a guy who’s literally been bringing my laptop and borrowed snowball microphone to people’s places of business to do these interviews.
Ken’s production team allowed me to put on the headphones, sit in Dave’s chair, talk to Ken, and record the entire conversation on their nice equipment… so you may find that the sound quality of today’s episode is fantastic! That is thanks to Ken Coleman and his team for allowing us to bring you today’s podcast from the Dave Ramsey Studio in Franklin, TN.
So… I hope you enjoy today’s podcast. It was truly a special and exciting experience for me, and I am grateful for Ken and his graciousness of giving some of his time to let me interview him about his book. I encourage you, if you haven’t already, pick up a copy of The Proximity Principle and pay special attention to the practical details Ken gives at the end of the book. It is a “must-read” for anyone in the personal development, career finding mode of life.. It is also a great book teaching us how to build relationships with the right people so we can serve more people in our communities!
As always… thanks for listening! Would love to hear your feedback on this one!
